Alberta. The provincial fish of Alberta is a trout. There
are 19,531 sq.km (7,541 sq.mi) of inland water in Alberta, (click for mpeg)!
There are many
lakes in central and northern Alberta. Lake Claire, 1,436 sq. km (554
sq.
mi) in area, is the largest lake wholly within Alberta. Lake Athabasca,
which covers 7,935 sq. km (3,064 sq. mi), runs along the
Alberta-Saskatchewan
border. Other well-known lakes are Lesser Slave Lake, Lac La Biche, and

These stores specialize in fishing equipment; anything and everything you need to enjoy the fishing experience of a lifetime. When you pick up the equipment you need, be sure to ask about a fishing licence. You will need it for any fishing in Canada. Now you are ready for your fishing adventure in Canada! Canada's lake fishing is spectacular! World famous Canadian fishing is here for everyone! There are lake trout, northern pike, rainbow and brook trout, smallmouth bass, and walleye. Canada is the country of unlimited fishing opportunities. Trophy fish are caught regularly in many lakes in Canada. There are many fishing resorts available in Canada! If you only have a few days, a fishing resort is the best for you. A fishing resort makes your fishing vacation very easy! Everything is arranged for you in order that you have an experience of a lifetime. There are many types of resorts. Fly-in fishing trips are very popular in Canada. Many fly-in fishing resorts are in the Canadian wilderness. There are a lake trout exceeding 40 lbs. and northern pike in the 30 lb. range. As well, large Arctic Grayling are also available. There are some fishing lodges with all the comforts you may require, while other lakes have more rustic accommodations. Perhaps cabins or tent campsites. For the more adventurous, float planes can take you on fishing trips into the best fisheries. If you would prefer to spend your time in a major city, there is usually a lake for fishing within a 45 minute drive. Many lakes are accessible by road and offer great fishing. Many Canadians travel to lakes on the weekend or on their holidays. Camping/fishing trips are very popular. Commonly called 'roughing it', these trips are not expensive, but can be a lot of fun!
